We say farewell to Pete Cummins and Ger Kiely after three months of fantastic acoustic guitar. Pete and Ger really made the gig their own. A lovely mix of folk, blues, country and western all delivered in an unplugged gig.
Good luck and hope to see you back very soon lads.
Sad to hear another one bite the dust -- this time the great Gary Moore. Gary’s career started with Skid Row with Noel Bridgeman (Left, Right & Centre) and Brush Shields.
We’ll miss him.
Here is a Tadgh pick from an appearance on the Old Grey Whistle test with Phil Lynott:
…and from the Skid Row days (check out a young Noel on the sticks)…
You should know that Tadhg has an excellent CD recorded and mixed by Quill of the lads giving it their all in Ryans. Only €10!
We’ve also been doing some amateur recordings here with the rather excellent (if a little flimsy) Zoom H1 recorder and, thanks to the generosity of Noel, Ed, Trevor and John, the tracks will shortly be available as mp3′s for free download. You’ll find them all on Franks Tracks.
So – starting now, we have a selection from 21/10/2010.
Yesterday Paul Ashford passed away after a heart attack. Paul was one of Irelands best known musicians, and an accomplished songwriter. Paul will be remembered for (among others) The Chosen Few, The Miami Showband and Stepaside. Paul also played with The Furey Brothers, Ronnie Drew and toured with Jerry Lee Lewis.

A happy Christmas and New Year to all of our supporters.
We reopen on Thursday 30th at 4pm.
Join us for a New Years Eve party -- on the 31st (Duh!)
Tadhg.
And a seasonal Jerry Lee selection too:

Welcome
Ryans is your cosy local pub in the centre of Dublin.
You'll find us on Queen Street in Smithfield, just around the corner from the Irish Whiskey Corner and near the Guinness Storehouse.
You'll also find us at the end of Coke Lane at the bottom of Smithfield Square (just a civilised distance from Temple Bar).
We don’t believe in the noisy crass bars full of stag and hen parties and rubbish DJ’s – we believe in giving a friendly welcome in a warm bar and serving you the best pint of Guinness in Dublin (according to our locals) and bar snacks.
Ryans is full of music memorabilia and music is in our hearts. We regularly have live blues and rock, and the odd traditional session as well.
We're open from 4pm daily, 6 on Sundays (and earlier by request).
So, pop in, have a pint, a chat, a read of the paper, a game of pool or watch the big match on TV. One thing we do guarantee – you’ll be back! Tadgh.
